The Principle of Superposition - Simulation...

Here, you can experiment with the principle of superposition.  There are two waves of equal amplitude and wavelength, but of different phase.

• Change the wavelength using the top slider.  Note how the colour changes.

• Use the button to start and stop the waves moving.

• Use the bottom slider to change the "phase difference" - see how you can obtain both constructive and destructive interference.
